REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS

Students are bound to observe the General regulations and other Rules of Discipline of the school. They are also bound to observe the regulations which the Management may frame from time to time.In particular, their attention is drawn to the following:
1. Every working day from Monday to Friday commences at 8.00 a.m. and concludes at 1.55 p.m with a lunch break of 30 minutes. i.e. 10.45 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. On Saturday working hours will be only in the morning session i.e. 8.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Students should be present in their respective classes for morning prayer.Late comers will be marked absent.
2. The time between 7.40 a.m. to 7.55 a.m. will be study hour. Students are expected to be at 7.45 a.m. in their respective classes and spend the time in useful study. No student should be found loitering about or idling away the study time.
3. There will be school assembly on Monday and Thursday. Students who do not attend the school assembly will be marked absent for the first session.
4. On the teacher’s arrival into the classroom, students must rise and remain standing till they are asked to sit or till the teacher takes his/her seat. When the attendance roll is called, each one must rise and answer to his name.
5. Playing or shouting inside the school building is not allowed. A student is not permitted to enter any classroom other than his own, without permission.
6. Punctual and regular attendance is insisted upon. Leave of absence from School must be applied for previously in the form supplied in the handbook.
7. When students have to be absent from school without leave for some reason not foreseen earlier e.g. illness, they must send their leave note to the Headmaster / Headmistress by post duly signed by their parent. Should the absence exceed three days, notice must be forwarded to the Headmistress.
8. Absence without leave from tests and examinations and at the time of reopening of classes after the holidays shall be viewed seriously. In case of illness, a medical certificate shall be produced.
9. Students absent without leave for any one hour during either session of the day, shall be regarded as absent for the whole session and serious note will be taken of such absence.
10. Students marked “absent” shall continue to be so marked until they produce an order from the Headmaster / Headmistress or other authority.
11. Students are not permitted to leave the school before time either during the morning or afternoon session unless leave is requested by the parent or guardian personally for valid reasons.
12. Irregular attendance, insubordination to teachers, habitual inattention to school work, obscenity in word or act are sufficient reasons for the temporary or permanent dismissal of a student.
13. The school does not hold itself responsible for the student’s conduct outside its premises. Injustice however it takes cognizance of any serious misconduct of its students committed outside its precincts and should any serious charge be fairly substantiated, the guilty shall be punished accordingly to the gravity of the offence.
14. Progress Records will be issued after the I Semester Examination. They shall be returned to the class teacher duly signed by the parent or guardian within three days of their issue.
15. The prescribed School Uniform should be worn, along with I.D. Cards on all days by the students.
For Boys
i) Grey shorts with white shirt of prescribed pattern with school tie for Nursery and Primary students (L.K.G. to Std.IV)
ii) Grey shorts / Full pants of prescribed pattern with loops (1½”) for the belt and white shirt for Higher Primary and High School Students. (Std.V – X)
iii) White pants and squad wise coloured T-Shirts on Mondays for High School and Thursdays for Higher Primary Section.

For Girls
i) Grey pinafores with white blouses of prescribed pattern with the school tie for Nursery and Primary students (L.K.G. to Std.IV)
ii) Grey Pinafores / skirt with loops (1½”) for the belt and white blouses for the Primary and High School students (Std.V to Std.X) White skirts and squad wise coloured T-Shirts on Mondays for High School and Thursdays for Higher Primary Section.
iii) Anklets, bangles, chains, finger rings or flowers are not allowed. Girls must tie their hair in two plats with black rubber band or black ribbon.
iv) Girls are not permitted to wear sleeveless dresses on any days like Birthdays or days permitted by the school.

16. Students must respect the members of the staff and greet them on meeting them for the first time during the day.
17. Camera, Cell phone, Books, Magazines, Newspaper and Articles not approved by the Headmaster / Headmistress should not be brought to the school.
18. The use of tobacco in any form, eating ice-cream, ice-candy, chewing gum or other eatables within the school premises is forbidden.
19. Students must possess a copy of the school Hand Book which is to be brought to class on all working days. They are not permitted to tear any page from the hand book. Students are expected to speak only in English within the School premises. However those found speaking in vernacular languages will pay a fine of Rs.100/-
20. Students must equip themselves with a complete outfit of everything that is necessary for their studies. They must use their own materials and be responsible for their safety. The school cannot make itself responsible for books, money, clothes and other articles that are lost.
21. Students must take care of the school property. Damages should be made good.
22. Attendance at Value Education classes and Examination is obligatory to all students.
23. Students who depend on public conveyance to come to the school should leave homes early enough to avoid peak hours and be at the school well in time.
24. Students must not join any club or Society or make any engagements outside-school that would interfere with their studies without the permission of the Headmaster / Headmistress. They are not allowed to play in any team against the school.
25. Students are not allowed to take any part in political agitation directed against the authority of the lawful Government.
26. The Catholic students are expected to participate whole heartedly in the annual retreat, children’s Mass, Confessions and other events organized by the school.
27. At the beginning of the morning and evening sessions all must stand and pray devoutly. They shall stand respectfully for the School Anthem in the morning and National Anthem at the end of the session.
28. Letters officially addressed to the Headmaster / Headmistress must be accompanied to reply enclosed postage.
29. Students should adhere to the discipline of the school whole heartedly. They should follow the bells scrupulously, particularly the bells rung after the recess and the break both the forenoon and afternoon. They should never leave the school premises during these intervals.
30. Attendance at classes and examinations progress as well as conduct of the students will be taken into consideration while recommending the students for Merit Certificate, Concessions, Scholar- ships and free-ships.
31. Cleanliness of the classroom and school premises is also essential for the proper and smooth functioning of the Institution. Therefore students should keep their classrooms, corridors and the playground clean and tidy. Dustbins should be used to throw the waste.
